Indigenuity brings together two words: Indigenous and ingenuity.

It celebrates the intelligence, creativity and resourcefulness of our people, the richness of our cultures and the generations of knowledge and wisdom that continue to shape who we are.

Our ingenuity is woven through our connections to Country, our languages, stories and cultural practices, and the sophisticated systems of knowledge, governance, trade and innovation developed across our many Nations. It reflects generations of observation, discovery and adaptation, and the remarkable ways our ancestors understood, cared for and shaped the world around them.

At the heart of Indigenuity are our people. The voices of our Elders, the wisdom shared between generations, and the relationships that connect families, communities and Country. These connections carry our histories, strengthen our identities and inform how we see the world.

Indigenuity speaks to the power of our voices, the importance of truth-telling and the reclamation of Country. It reflects our enduring connections to land and waters, the strength of our cultural identities and our determination to shape the landscapes, cities and communities around us.

Cultural continuity flows through the stories we tell, the knowledge we practice, the relationships we nurture and the new expressions of culture we create. Each generation carries forward the wisdom of those before us, bringing new ideas and aspirations to our collective future.

The Lab represents curiosity, exploration and collaboration. It brings together cultural knowledge, lived experience and professional expertise to challenge thinking, inspire innovation and create new possibilities.

Together, Indigenuity Lab celebrates the strength of Aboriginal knowledge, the power of our voices and the ingenuity that connects our past, present and future.
